Big as in big box which means if you've seen one big Canadian Tire, you've seen them all. That's meant as a plus.The Grant Park location is newer meaning a more spacious, brighter layout. They still lose a star by sparse staffing if you have questions.I'd lean on HomeDepot now for real DIY and building supplies. Canadian Tire have shifted to housewares. The automotive offerings look ideal for the basics like tires but after 40 years I still seek out an independent repair shop for my cars.
Like the Grant Park store for my auto tune ups and repair. My car is older now and they are knowledgeable and helpful. As a senior with a limited budget they work with me to keep the cost as reasonable as they can and they are thoughtful. Good staff at this location!

They told me it would take 3 hours of labour for this job which I was charged for on the bill. I learned after the fact from a friend that a quick-strut was used which took him far under an hour to replace two with help. Sure enough, at least one review of Monroe quick-struts on the Canadian tire site says it takes 30 minutes or less per side - same time frame from Amazon reviews (look it up since I can't include the URLs). The attached photo shows the bill. Apparently it took 6 hours to replace 3 struts as one they installed was faulty; labour for the faulty part wasn't charged. Called about it and an employee said I agreed to the price so I got charged what I did. Since I agreed to the price I am likely screwed. How amateurs take two hours less to do this work compared to a shop is puzzling to me unless they were being dishonest about the labour... Consider another shop and definitely take time to do research before agreeing to work under stress!
The worst Customer Service ever! We bought a Dust Pan, didn't notice it was a little bit scratched at the bottom, but we bought it anyway. When we got home, we realized that the Dust Pan's stick was falling constantly, so we never really used it and decided to return it. When we got there, the Customer Service representative with the worst attitude in the world decided to tell us that the Dust Pan was scratched and she couldn't put it in stock again, so instead returning the money back to our Credit Card, she decided to give us Store Credit. Canadian Tire has a policy that says that the payment method determines the return method. Since we got a reaction from the Customer Service girl, we decided to take the unfair Store Credit to try buying another thing, so we bought a Yoga Mat for a gift. Unfortunately, the person was given another Yoga Mat, so we decided to give him another thing and return the Yoga Mat to the store, we tried again to explain everything in order to have our money returned to the Credit Card. All we received was a horrible attitude, this time from the Manager! Only negative answers, no solutions and with a rude tone of voice...Maybe for Canadian Tire 14.99 + Tax is not a big deal, but it's unfair to play like that. So, to summarize, 3 things going wrong in this situation:1. Bad return procedure for the Dust Pan2. Bad attitude while returning the Dust Pan3. Bad attitude while doing the second claim, this time from the Manager (A young lady).I promise to myself not going back again to Canadian Tire! This happened in Grant Park, Winnipeg.
This store seems to do focus more on catching shoplifters than catching customers. Just didn't enjoy the experience. We went in with bags from our shopping in the mall and got chased down to leave then at customer service. They gave us a number then when we were leaving, had to wait 5 minutes to get our stuff back. Need to do better folks!
