Stayed for a night on the way back home from the west. Quite a bit away from Trans Canada Highway and across the street from the Winnipeg airport. The check in was quick. The hotel was bigger than I anticipated. There is a water park inside the hotel which makes it popular for families with little kids. The elevator to our floor was a long walk away from the counter and needed the room key to go to our floor. The rooms good size and beds were really good. The pillows and linens provided were top notch. The bathroom fairly good size with good toiletries. Quiet rooms and well cleaned made a difference. The rate that we booked was super nice and was a good deal. Recommend this place!
Chicago Joe's Restaurant was awesome. The new york steak medium rare was the best!! I almost didn't want to eat the steak with it's perfect grill marks!! The deserts are also good! You really get fooled because you don't expect a restaurant hotel to have food this good. It's a bit pricey but the food quality is reflected in that. The hotel rooms are about average, nothing special but not a slum either. Very clean. Staff was super friendly and they send you a text message when you check in to make sure you are happy. The swimming pool is very shallow (only 1M) the water slide is FAST and the hot tub was just warm. (These aren't really bad things, I'm just pointing out the layout)
Attended conference. Friendly staff. Room was nice. It had nice large TB, newly renovated bathroom, so nice shower. My only complaint was the view out my window was of the pool area. So I heard loud children from the time it opened until it closed. Beds super comfy, pillows were the best. I want one....where can I get me one of those. LolRestaurant food was okay, they make the best Greek Salad. Catering at conference was really good. You have some nice staff working there.
Attended a day long conference. Everything was quite good. Conference room was acceptable. Coffee was better than I expected. Lunch was only OK (sandwiches, soup, salad, pasta) desserts were excellent. Parking was plentiful and free. I'd give 5 stars if not for the lunch.
Attended a wedding at the recently renovated Victoria Inn Convention Centre. The hall was very nice but considerably lacked versatility in the floor plan. The hall was a rectangular orientation but left no space for bar or buffet. The foyer as well was very small, and lacked space to hang out away from the hall and loud music. Essentially the foyer was only designed to accomodate washroom access. The staff was professional but lacked experience causing very slow service and extremely long wait times. The hotel itself is decent but the convention hall left something to be desired especially for a special event such as a wedding.
