Absolutely horrendous service. These individuals are negligent and condescending. I would have expected the workers to make the environment more inviting, less judgemental, to be more friendly, and willing to help, if they plan to remain as front line staff. Otherwise, they are clearly demonstrating to be miserable.
Super quick service, extremely nice women. they were very informing, they made sure i knew everything i need to know. also gave me advice on what would make things go quicker. i was honestly in there less then 5 minuets. best experience with service Canada yet!
The women who work here have been really rude in the past, it's a close location tho so that's convenient
Arrive at 4: 10 p.m, like we did, and you'll find the office closed 10 minutes ago!The hours of operation are abysmal. Open at 8: 30 a.m. - which is fine - but to close at 4.00 p.m! It certainly didn't cross my mind that any office (especially a government office providing "service" to the public) would have abbreviated opening hours. (Isn't the standard for an 8:30 a.m. start a 4:30 p.m. finish, unless of course staff have a shortened lunch hour.) I would argue that the office should be open to at least 5 p.m. in order to provide "service" to the public.Staggered hours is how most businesses do it.This office is out in the boonies, accessible only by the No 18 bus and an 8 minute walk (according to Navigo). It looks like there are only three Service Canada Offices for the whole of Winnipeg (pop nearly 700,000) Downtown, 3393 Portage and 1001 St Mary's) so a lot of people would be travelling quite a way to access an office. I casually asked the receptionist whether they get flack for their hours and she replied that most people who come to their office are unemployed so can come any time. How about those that aren't unemployed and need to fit it in after work? Tough luck I guess, unless you're able to take time off.As to the quality of service it was excellent. When we got there after 3 p.m. the following day there was plenty of staff available. We were dealt with quickly and efficiently (needed a document witnessed and handed in). A question couldn't be answered because there had been some change to the computers (but this would have been beyond the control of the employee). We were advised to phone in with our question.
If you don't want rude, condescending service, go to any other centre than this one!
