Absolutely terrible customer service and extremely unorganized. My wife brought in my watch to have the battery swapped out (They advertised this to be no charge and I had purchased my wife's engagement ring there a few years back). From the time it was dropped off to the time we picked it up we had nothing but issues. She had originally dropped it off Wednesday Oct 18th and was told the battery was not in stock but they could have one in the next day (Oct 19th). At this point she was upsold an engraving on the watch to which she agreed and was told a new date of the 24th. Due to the nature of my job I needed my watch for work and could not wait until the 24th. She called back Oct 19 to let them know this and to cancel the engraving if it could not be done by the next day (Oct 20) we did not want it done. The lady who answered informed us that the watch was now at their Kenaston store (we dropped it off at the St. James store). At this point she was told that we would have to pick it up at the Kenaston location but the person who does the engraving had taken it home with him and now it would not be done until the 23rd at the soonest. This was unacceptable, but there was nothing we could do now but wait. Fast forward to Monday (Oct 23), and my wife picked up the watch only to see that they installed the back plate of the watch crooked and the engraving was not centered. She was informed that this was an error on their part but we would have to leave it with them for another few days to correct. We declined this and paid our bill of $56.50. We didn't ask for a discount for the service nor was any offered. Stay clear of these guys if you don't want to waste time and money on a company that cannot keep stock of your personal items and have zero pride in workmanship (This was clearly evident due to the that fact that when my wife picked the watch up they had noticed it was crooked but did nothing to correct the problem prior to delivery). I uploaded a photo of the crooked engraving. Again, this was not a huge deal as no one will see it except for me, but the fact they couldn't even center it is pretty unbelievable. Would give them 0 stars if I could.
I arrived 4 minutes before close, hoping to buy a birthday gift. The ladies working welcomed me in with open arms and were extremely helpful. My experience from start to finish was stellar and I left the store with a huge smile on my face! Thanks to the wonderful staff, I will definitely be shopping here again!
I buy my wife all of her jewelry from Appelts. The staff there are amazing and helped me so much. And when ever we need re fittings or cleanings we always come back. I have a coffee and the wife shops around. Best part is I never leave broke and they always stand buy their products. I highly recommend it.
If I could give this place zero stars, I would. My boyfriend got me a pulse pendent necklace for my birthday in July last year and since then the chain has broke three times. The first time they welded the chain and it broke so they got us a new one, now this chain has broke twice. I've given up on even trying to deal with this, I'm not rough on my jewelry and this is the only piece I have ever had problems with.
Great friendly service and always with a smile on their faces. Love going in for the free battery service. Haven't needed to purchase anything yet but when I do I will be stopping here first.
