Strange hours. The security take their jobs too seriously, yes this is a bad area, no that does not make you a police officer. Being followed through the entire mall while shopping is just one of the things that makes being here an unpleasant experience. "No sitting on the planters" apart from the unwelcome environment, they have regular deals in the stores, the food court is alright and out front is a good place to catch a bus to a proper mall or literally anywhere else
Affordable price of items. Good food. No parking space for vehicle but has a bus stop for easy access to mobility.
A little trough around the edges and in need of some tlc, Portage Place was a great idea that never really hit its stride. There arent very many stores left, though its working reasonably well as an office and social service hub. Fully committing to a new direction may save it, but Im not sure that Id recommend heading down to shop.
It is really nice to have so many places that you can shop with out going over the city to get what you want or need. Just be warned. There are usually a lot of people like being there. So it's always crowded.
I got stuck by a sewing needle hiding in a chair cushion here at the Cherry Creek restaurant. It seems like there are a number of closed down store fronts which would suggest that business isn't great here. The Ardene is nice for picking up some sale items. Food court is less than ideal.
